| The value of endoscopic ultrasonography is widely recognized
today and, with it, a greater appreciation of the critical role played
by nurses in supporting ultrasound endoscopic examinations. |
|
| To help nurses better fulfill this role, we will be
offering a special Nurse’s Program on November 13. The aim of
this program is to provide nurses, involved in EUS support activities,
with information that will help assure safer, and more efficient ultrasound
endoscopic examinations. We are planning to enrich this program with
the transmission of live demonstrations, lectures, as well as a course
in equipment handling. |

| The live demonstrations will focus on the actual workflow
of an examination, with special emphasis on the nurses’ responsibilities.
The lectures will invite endoscopic nurses in Japan and other Asian
countries to express their opinions on the role of nurses in EUS examinations,
improve understanding based on actual cases, and encourage the exchange
of opinions among all participants. In the hands-on equipment training
course, the nurses will learn proper technique in handling ultrasound
endoscopic equipment in order to improve, efficiency, safety, and
trouble-shooting skills. |

| We hope that this program will provide nurses with
information that they can utilize immediately and that as many nurses
as possible will participate in this program. |
