As you are probably well aware, remarkable progress has been made in ultrasound endoscopy, Applications of this technology are expanding from qualitative diagnoses to actual treatment. As new techniques and equipment are developed, the expansion of ultrasound endoscopy will depend more and more on enhancing the technical skill and interpretative ability of the users. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we have arranged a live demonstration of live ultrasound endoscopic procedures, conducted at Kitasato University East Hospital and transmitted to the demonstration site at the Symposium. The physicians serving as demonstrators and moderator are all world-class experts in the field, each bringing to the task a comprehensive knowledge of endoscopic diagnosis and ultrasound endoscopy. We hope for many physicians, those already experienced in endoscopic ultrasound diagnosis and those just beginning, to attend the live presentation and participate in active discussions. We also hope that this presentation can serve to enhance the skills of the participants.
